Azamara Quest is a destination cruise ship owned by Azamara Club Cruises a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Cruises. The ship was built in 2000 by Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire. In 2007 she was transferred to Azamara to become Quest. She entered drydock in Singapore this spring and has undertaken an extensive refurbishment.
The Waveguide Communications Dry Dock team, led by Project Manager James (JW) Whelpley, had their hands full to accomplish a large scope in a minimal amount of time. This included installation, testing and certifying of more than 750 new CAT6 cables for various projects as part of the scope of work. Installation, termination and commissioning of backbone cabling for a new 40KVA UPS designed to power the main computer room as well as all the IT Network Closets throughout the vessel. To create the redundancy needed we also installed a secondary link from the ships power grid to run side by side with the newly implemented UPS.
Great job Team Waveguide!
