Celebrity Silhouette is a destination cruise ship owned by Celebrity Cruises, a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. The ship was built in 2011 by Meyer Werft Papenburg, Germany. In January of 2020 she entered drydock in Cadiz, Spain and has undertaken an extensive refurbishment.
The Waveguide Communications Dry Dock team had their work cut out for them during this project with a large scope of work. This included installation, testing and termination of more than 950 new CAT6/CAT7 cables for various projects as part of the scope of work. The team also replaced more than 1,300 12-port network switches in passenger and crew staterooms onboard for in-stateroom television (MYTV), phone connectivity (PBX), and wired data connections. In addition they also installed power/data for new RFID devices and digital Signage screens in passenger and crew spaces as well as a heafty 1,150 new wireless access points throughout the vessel.
