Celebrity Equinox is a destination cruise ship owned by Celebrity Cruises, a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. The ship was built in 2009 by Meyer Werft, Papenburg, Germany. In May of 2019 she entered drydock in Cadiz, Spain and has undertaken an extensive refurbishment.
The Waveguide Communications Dry Dock team had their work cut out for them during this project with a moderate scope of work. This included installation, testing and termination of more than 480 new CAT6 cables for various projects as part of the scope of work. The team also replaced more than 1,300 12-port network switches in passenger and crew staterooms onboard for in-stateroom television (MYTV), phone connectivity (PBX), and wired data connections. In addition they also installed more than 1,200 new networked TVs to crew staterooms as well as 888 new wireless access points throughout the vessel.
